SPECIAL UPDATE ABOUT OUR WORSHIP SERVICES
Updated: 11/10/2020
Dear Brothers and Sisters of St. John,
Due to the rise in positive rates in Kane County, Governor Pritzker has issued an order limiting gatherings to 10 people or less. Unfortunately, that means we will only be able to have 10 people at each worship service this Sunday, and for the foreseeable future. Joe has set up an online sign-up sheet for those who wish to attend in person. The link can be found by clicking here. The sign-up sheet only goes through the end of the month and it includes our Thanksgiving Eve worship service on Wednesday, November 25 at 7 PM. If we need to continue to have people sign up another sheet will be sent out for the month of December. Please sign up ahead of time so we can keep the number at 10 or less. Please feel free to sign up for as many services as you would like and remember to include your entire family to make sure we have an accurate number.
This mitigation does not affect Confirmation Class on Wednesday, or Sunday Morning Youth Bible Study, as both currently average under 10 people. But if you feel more comfortable attending these classes from home you are welcome to join us over Zoom. The link for these classes is also emailed to the parents ahead of time.
If you do attend worship with us in person we ask that you continue to follow all the safety guidelines that have been in place. Please wear your mask at all times, even if you are already in the building and sitting in your seat. Wash your hands frequently. Also please sit with each family group socially distanced from others. If you or anybody in your household is not feeling well we ask that you stay at home and worship with us online. We also ask that all gatherings and conversations be held outside of the church building and not in the narthex or fellowship hall. We promise to continue to make sure the church building is clean between worship services each and every week and we will continue to provide masks and hand sanitizer for everybody as they walk through the front door.
We will continue to live stream our 8 AM worship service on both our Facebook page and here on our church website. Links on how to access these live videos are sent out each week with the bulletin on Friday. If you are not able to watch it live, the recordings are available for you to watch at your convenience on those two sites and on our YouTube channel. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can still click the link to watch it as a guest. We also have the ability to put the recording of our worship service on a USB drive or DVD for those who would like to receive the services that way. Please talk with DCE Joe Ferwerda if you have any questions about the live stream or recording of the services.
Please keep our Country, our church workers, including Joe and myself, and those affected by Covid-19, in your prayers. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me in the church office.
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Pinion
